Feeling Discouraged by Low Engagement? 😟
Do you feel like you're spending all this time creating content and not getting engagement?Do you start thinking that your content must just suck? 😭
Maybe you're beating yourself up because your content isn't reaching the people you want to reach? 😩
Have you ever said to yourself, "Am I cut out for this?" 😟
I've certainly been there. So, I'm here to tell you that it's probably not your content.
It's the algorithms, and you're not getting enough reach or enough eyeballs on your content.
Social channels tend to show your stuff to people you're always interacting with, creating a small circle. We want to widen that circle to get more engagement.
I'm going to give you my FIVE TIPS for boosting engagement. 📈
1. Increase Your Friends List 👯♂️
You probably need to increase your circle. If you're on Facebook, add more friends daily. I recommend adding five new friends a day to increase your audience size.
The same people are likely seeing your stories or your feed over and over again.
2. Engage with New People Daily 🤝
Engage with five new people a day. Social media is meant for engagement, not just selling. If you want to receive, you have to give.
Engage with other people's content, and they'll likely engage with yours. Here's how you can find new people to interact with:
On Facebook: Scroll through your stories until you start seeing people you don't interact with often and make a genuine comments. This will pop you right into their messenger inbox and you can start a conversation with them. The Facebook algorithm loves this! They will reward you by starting to show your content to these people!
On Instagram: Follow a hashtag that's similar to your content and comment on five posts in that feed. You can also find people following similar hashtags in your niche and engage with their profiles.
3. Engage Before Posting ⏳
Social platforms want you to be active on their platforms. If you can, engage for about five minutes before posting something on social media. This gins up the algorithm and shows your posts to more people. It doesn't have to be five minutes; even a couple of minutes can make a difference.
4. Create Conversational Posts with a Call to Action 💬
Conversations drive engagement. In your posts, tell a story and add a call to action that feels natural. Think about how you would talk to someone if you were sitting across the table from them. Here are some call-to-action examples:
"Can you relate?" 🤔
"Do you agree or disagree?" 👍👎
"Do you like [something]? What's your fave?" ❤️
"Like this if you agree." 👍
"Save this for later" (especially on Instagram). 📌
"Tag someone who needs to hear this today." 🏷️
